To Zimbabwe with Love
Light of Christ
"The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it." John 1:5
In times of difficulties and danger such as being experienced in Zimbabwe, we must live in the light of Christ as best we can. Be greatly encouraged and remember He is God in human form, sent to walk in our midst, bringing us words of faith, hope, love and courage. He is both with us and within us as Christians. We can be confident that nothing can separate us from his love and light, even in the midst of such chaos and uncertainty. The people of Zimbabwe are precious to Him.
All the combined evil darkness in the world cannot extinguish the light of Christ in our lives. Because Jesus Christ has experienced hardship, danger, suffering, hunger, thirst, betrayal, injustice and discouragement, he fully understands our human condition and the deepest needs of our hearts.
The light of his life and words bring us insight and guidance as we struggle to survive yet another day, when God may seem silent. When our vision and perspectives are diminished due to adverse and overwhelming conditions, the Light of Christ illuminates, empowers and energizes us to continue on yet another day. Trust His light to guide your path today and in the days ahead.
Remember, God cares deeply for the people of Zimbabwe and is concerned with your suffering and situation. Evil cannot prevail over God. Be assured that growing numbers of Christians around the world are praying for you and your beloved country, while seeking ways to help. There is no such thing as a little prayer. God is at work in Zimbabwe and you are making a difference.
May the light of Christ bathe you with strength, comfort, courage and wisdom. May His light guide your steps with confidence and bless you with growing faith. God bless you.
Prayer: God of Light and Love, shine brightly in Zimbabwe today and guide your people through these uncertain times. Help us fix our eyes on Jesus and walk in His light as best we can. Bring healing to Zimbabwe and relief from her terrible suffering. We pray these things in the illuminating name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
